dogs_smallOn Sunday November 1, Milwaukie Police were called to an apartment building at 10489 SE 23rd to investigate a dog that had been found in a dumpster.

A resident of the apartment was placing trash in the dumpster when he heard a sound from inside the dumpster. The resident found a seriously injured small dog that had been placed in a plastic bag.

The dog was taken to Dove Lewis Emergency Animal Hospital at Mall 205. The animal suffered serious head injuries and was ultimately euthanized due to those injuries.

The dog was not wearing any tags and did not have a microchip. The case is still under investigation at this time and anyone who has information on this case is asked to call the Milwaukie Police Dept. at 503-786-7500.
