kjh_scene_in_portland1Robert Pattinson Mentions Portland for Breaking Dawn

Twilight hearthrob Robert Pattinson let slip on MTV News recently that he had heard the rumors that Breaking Dawn would be shooting in Portland, and said he would love it if our very own Gus Van Sant would direct. Now wouldn’t that be something. Remember, you heard those rumors here first.

St. Helens Hosts Experience New Moon Event

St. Helens, Oregon, where a few scenes in the first Twilight movie were shot, will be the setting for the Experience New Moon event, November 19-22. Festivities include set tours, a Volturi Ball, and a New Moon VIP Party on the evening of November 19. The VIP party will be held at the historic Columbia Theater, and will include a panel discussion with Lana Veenker (local casting director for Twilight), Stephenie Meyer (Twilight Series author), and some of the local Twilight cast members. New Moon will screen at 12:01 a.m. at the VIP party. Tickets available at experiencenewmoon.com.

Keri Murphy Update

Last week I reported that Keri Murphy, former owner of Murphy Talent Group, was being sued for allegedly misappropriating money owed to her former talent. The trial date is now set for December 4, not December 5, as previously reported. The family that is suing Murphy is represented by Erin K. Olson, a local Portland attorney.

Daniel Baldwin is Back in Town

Daniel Baldwin says he’s heading back to Portland on Monday to look for a home for his family. Plans to move to Portland in January are still a go, as reported previously.

Casting Couch

It’s been a relatively slow week in the casting department. Fred Meyer cast and shot a spot. Clay Graham and Rebecca Rodriguez just cast a short film called The Prognosis. A lot of talent who read for Van Sant’s movie, Restless, are still on hold, which means they haven’t been booked yet.

Kelly Jo Horton lives the life of a software and database geek by day, and the creative life of an actress, writer and improv comedienne at ComedySportz by night. She is the former writer, host and co-producer of TVC-TV’s political talk show “To the Point!” She holds a degree in journalism from San Diego State University.

  1. Darrell Fuller says:

I was watching season six of 24 when I noticed two F-15 Strike Eagles with "OREGON" on their vertical wings in the background of one scene ostensibly shot at an airport in DC. I didn't know any of 24 was shot in Oregon. Or, how else did the Oregon ANG F-15s end up in the shot. The scene was a female cabinet member (National Security Advisor, I think) who had resigned waiting in an airport for a flight to LA). I'd love to know the history but don't know who to ask…

    • Great catch Darrell! I don't remember hearing anything about them being here, so my guess is they were in L.A. and we were just flying a practice mission or something. I'll ask around.
