Burns native and UofO standout Kellen Clemens has been with the New York Jets for 4 years now and for the 3rd time he has narrily missed out on the starting QB job. On Wedensday Clemens learned that he would be demoted to back up quarterback while USC rookie Mark Sanchez won the starting job. In his second NFL season, Clemens was thought to become a starter but the Jet stuck with Chad Pennington. Last year Clemens would have been the starter if Brett Favre hadn’t unretired and signed with the team.
To make matters worse for Oregon pride…there is another native on the Jets bench. Though not expected to have a shot at the starting job this year, QB Erik Ainge of Hillsboro will be the 3rd string. Ainge is a second year member of the Jets organization after a good college career at Tennessee.

Sanchez is the better QB plain and simple, Clemens and Ainge will have great careers in the NFL as backups.
How do we know Sanchez is better? He started for 1 season in college and hasn’t taken a single snap in a real NFL game.
