65 Year Old Portland Woman Fights Off Purse Snatcher

On November 24, 2009 at 4:15 p.m., 65-year-old Katherine Dunn fought off a female purse snatcher in the area of Northwest 21st and Glisan Street. 25-year-old Brandy Amber Carroll attempted to take Ms. Dunn’s purse but Ms. Dunn fought her off and Carroll ran from the scene. A Multnomah County Deputy was in the area, saw the disturbance, and immediately began assisting Ms. Dunn. Carroll was caught a few blocks from the scene and was charged with one count of Robbery in the Third Degree, Theft in the First Degree, and Resist Arrest. She was booked at the downtown Multnomah County Jail.
