Salem Police Arrest 3 for Selling Drugs Across from High School
Salem Police Street Crimes detectives arrested three suspects for selling marijuana across from a Salem high school and middle school on Tuesday, May 25th.
Detectives responded to a residence in the 1700 block of Cottage St SE on a drug house complaint. This residence is directly across the street from Howard Street Charter School and South Salem High School. As the detectives progressed in their investigation at the residence they located marijuana, scales that are consistent with the sales of narcotics, narcotics packaging materials and drug-related records. The investigation further revealed that the suspects had been selling marijuana from the residence to multiple people, and possibly to students as well.
Arrested in the investigation were :
- A 17-year old male on charges of Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana and Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana Within 1000 Feet of a School
- 19-Year old Salem resident Andrew Bigler on charges of Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana, Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana Within 1000 Feet of a School and Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana to a Minor.
- 31-year old Salem resident Virgil San Nicholas was cited for Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. This charge stemmed from San Nicholas continuing to take a young child into the residence despite his knowledge of the drug use and activity taking place.
