Avel Gordly, Chief Petitioner for the new Sam Adams recall campaign, announced that paperwork will be filed today with the city auditor’s office to restart the campaign to recall Mayor Sam Adams.
“This issue needs to be put before Portland voters so they can decide the city’s future,” Gordly said.
The new recall campaign comes one year after Adams admitted he lied about his relationship with Beau Breedlove just to get elected.
The campaign will use a combination of paid and volunteer signature gatherers and will contact the 30,000 plus voters who signed the first petition, plus reach out to additional voters in their neighborhoods.
“We raised enough funds to get the paid effort started but need more help from Portland business leaders and individuals who care about Portland’s future. I encourage those interested to send their contributions to Portland Future PAC – PO Box 5217 Portland OR 97208,” Gordly said.
Donation forms can be downloaded at: http://www.citizenrecall.org/data/Portland_Future_PAC_donation_form.pdf
Gordly added, “This is about uplifting the integrity and character of our city and rejecting the politics of win by any means necessary.”
As soon as the city approves the petitions they will be available online to download at RecallSamAdams.com.
