Suspicious Death of 3 yr old in Sandy

On Saturday, January 09, 2010 at approximately 1:00 p.m. Clackamas County Sheriff’s Deputies and Sandy Fire Rescue personnel responded to a reported death of a three-year-old child at a rural Clackamas County address in Sandy.

As a result of this initiated death investigation of the three-year-old child, on scene Sheriff’s Deputies immediately summoned the Clackamas County Deputy Medical Examiner to this residence in Sandy.

With the furtherance of this death investigation, additional investigative resources were deemed necessary and directed to the scene. Members of the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit responded with members of the CCSO Child Abuse Team. Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene investigators and Crime Reconstruction and Forensic Technicians also arrived at the residence to participate in this ongoing investigation.

Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) specialists were also requested to assist with the emotional requirements of those at the scene of this tragedy.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office emphasizes that NO arrests have been conducted in this ongoing death investigation. It can be expected that more details surrounding this investigation will be revealed as soon as enough investigative steps have been accomplished by CCSO investigators — these investigations require an abundance of time.

The community can take solace in knowing there is no pending threat to citizens, and that a skilled team of Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office investigators remain carefully working on this ongoing, sensitive investigation.
